Nigeria 🇳🇬 Hits Different – Benin City, Owerri & Roads That'll Test You
After experiencing the intensity of Lagos, I continued deeper into Nigeria, heading east through Benin City and eventually Owerri.
Leaving Lagos behind did not mean leaving the chaos behind—the roads remained busy, unpredictable and full of the constant movement that defines travelling through Nigeria.

Leaving Benin behind, I continued east toward one of the biggest and most intense countries on the African continent: Nigeria.
After enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of Cotonou, the transition into Nigeria was immediate. The roads became busier, the traffic heavier and the overall pace of life increased dramatically.

Leaving Togo, I continued east into Benin, another new country and another completely different experience on the journey across Africa.
After several intense stages through West Africa, Benin immediately felt welcoming, vibrant and full of character.

After leaving Ghana, I continued east toward Togo, another small but important step in my journey across Africa.
Unlike countries such as Mauritania, Guinea or Ghana, where I spent much more time exploring, Togo was mainly a short stop on the route toward the next major chapter of the expedition: Benin.

After arriving in Accra, I took a break from the constant movement and showed a completely different side of the journey: what life looks like when the motorcycle is parked and I have a place to call home for a few days.

Leaving Abidjan, I continued east along the coast toward the border with Ghana.
The route offered some of the most impressive coastal scenery of the journey so far, with the Atlantic appearing beside the road, palm-lined stretches, small communities and wide views across the shoreline.

After the difficult events surrounding my departure from Nzérékoré, crossing into Ivory Coast and reaching Yamoussoukro gave me time to stop and reflect.
From there, I continued south toward Abidjan, ready to leave the weight of the previous days behind and rediscover the simple freedom of being on the road.
The Worst Day of My Journey | Ride to Côte d’Ivoire Gone Wrong
Leaving Nzérékoré, I was finally approaching the end of my journey through Guinea and preparing to cross into Ivory Coast.
What should have been another demanding but manageable day on the road changed completely when I was involved in an accident on the way out of the city.

From Kissidougou, I continued south toward Nzérékoré, following a route that took me through some of the most varied scenery and road conditions I had encountered in Guinea.
The day would be long, hot and physically demanding, but it also revealed another impressive side of the country.
