Guinea Unfiltered: Madness, Chaos & the Open Road 🇬🇳
After spending time in Conakry, I finally secured the visas I needed for the next stages of the journey: Ivory Coast and Ghana.
With the paperwork completed, it was time to leave Guinea’s crowded capital and begin the long ride east toward the border with Ivory Coast.
Beauty, Dust & Chaos – Riding to Conakry, Guinea 🇬🇳
After my difficult introduction to Guinea, I continued south from Labé toward Mamou.
Fortunately, the roads began to improve, and for the first time in a while I could relax slightly and enjoy the ride.
Burning Hills and Extreme Roads - My Ride to Guinea 🇬🇳
Leaving The Gambia, I continued south toward Guinea, beginning another major stage of the journey across West Africa.
The relatively relaxed atmosphere around Banjul gradually gave way to longer distances, increasingly remote settlements and roads that became noticeably more demanding as I approached the border.
Banjul - Monkeys, Crocodiles & Boat That Told a Bigger Story 🇬🇲
After entering The Gambia, I continued towards Banjul, the country’s small but lively capital. The city felt very different from Dakar.
It was less overwhelming, more compact and easier to explore, but still full of movement, roadside activity and the unpredictable rhythm that had already come to define my journey through West Africa.
From Senegal to The Gambia – A Warm Welcome & Compliments 🇬🇲
Leaving Dakar behind, I continued south through Senegal toward The Gambia, one of the smallest countries on the African continent.
After the intensity of the capital, the ride gradually returned to smaller towns, roadside villages and a more open landscape.
Dakar Is Pure Chaos And I Loved It | Senegal 🇸🇳
After crossing into Senegal, I continued towards Dakar, leaving the dry and isolated landscapes of Mauritania behind. The change was immediate.
The roads became busier, the surroundings greener and the streets increasingly crowded with cars, buses, motorcycles, pedestrians and roadside activity.
Mauritania - The Most Misunderstood Country I’ve Ever Visited 🇲🇷 | THE MOVIE
Crossing from Western Sahara into Mauritania marked the beginning of a completely different stage of my journey across Africa.
The familiar infrastructure of Morocco disappeared almost immediately, replaced by open desert, frequent checkpoints and enormous distances between towns
Terrible Roads & Wild Encounters | My First Ride to Senegal 🇲🇷🇸🇳
Leaving Mauritania behind, I continued south toward the border with Senegal, ready to begin the next stage of my journey across Africa.
The landscape was still dry and exposed, but the road conditions deteriorated quickly.
Across the Sahara to Chinguetti’s Ancient Libraries 🇲🇷
After visiting the Eye of the Sahara and returning to Ouadane, we picked up another traveller from Greece and a child before continuing together across the desert.
Our route took us through the remote Adrar region toward Oasis de Tanouchert, a small but striking pocket of life surrounded by an immense landscape of stone and sand.
One of the Greatest Natural Wonders | Eye of the Sahara 🇲🇷
Every journey begins with a dream…, and this is mine.
Dust, Dreams, and Freedom — the beginning of a story written on the open roads of Africa.
A journey into the wild, into solitude, and into myself. No plans. No promises. Just the road, the wind, and the call of the unknown.
