Mauritania - The Most Misunderstood Country I’ve Ever Visited 🇲🇷 | THE MOVIE
Crossing from Western Sahara into Mauritania marked the beginning of a completely different stage of my journey across Africa.
The familiar infrastructure of Morocco disappeared almost immediately, replaced by open desert, frequent checkpoints and enormous distances between towns
Terrible Roads & Wild Encounters | My First Ride to Senegal 🇲🇷🇸🇳
Leaving Mauritania behind, I continued south toward the border with Senegal, ready to begin the next stage of my journey across Africa.
The landscape was still dry and exposed, but the road conditions deteriorated quickly.
Across the Sahara to Chinguetti’s Ancient Libraries 🇲🇷
After visiting the Eye of the Sahara and returning to Ouadane, we picked up another traveller from Greece and a child before continuing together across the desert.
Our route took us through the remote Adrar region toward Oasis de Tanouchert, a small but striking pocket of life surrounded by an immense landscape of stone and sand.
One of the Greatest Natural Wonders | Eye of the Sahara 🇲🇷
Every journey begins with a dream…, and this is mine.
Dust, Dreams, and Freedom — the beginning of a story written on the open roads of Africa.
A journey into the wild, into solitude, and into myself. No plans. No promises. Just the road, the wind, and the call of the unknown.
Why Ouadane Is One of the Most Incredible Places I’ve Seen 🇲🇷
After riding deeper into Mauritania, I reached Ouadane, an ancient settlement rising from the edge of the Sahara.
From a distance, the town seemed to blend almost completely into the surrounding desert, its stone buildings built from the same colours as the rocky landscape.
Epic Ride to the Iron Ore Train in Mauritania 🇲🇷
From Nouakchott, I headed inland and deeper into the Mauritanian Sahara, leaving the Atlantic coast behind for one of the country’s most remote and extraordinary sights: the famous iron ore railway.
The journey took me across long desert roads, through small settlements and into landscapes where sand, rock and open sky seemed to continue without end.
Camping in One of the Most Epic Places on Earth | Mauretania 🇲🇷
Leaving the noise and congestion behind, I travelled deeper into Mauritania in search of something completely different: silence, isolation and a night surrounded by untouched desert.
The road led away from the main towns and into a landscape that felt increasingly remote, with vast plains, rocky formations and almost no sign of modern life.
The Ride to Nouakchott Turned Wild | Locusts, Desert & Chaos 🇲🇷
Leaving Nouadhibou behind, I continued south toward Nouakchott, Mauritania’s capital. On the map, the route looked simple: one long road cutting through the desert.
In reality, it became one of the strangest and most unpredictable rides of the journey so far.
My First Motorcycle Fall Ever – In the Sahara, Mauritania 🇲🇷
Leaving Nouadhibou behind, I continued deeper into Mauritania, facing long desert roads, powerful crosswinds and sand constantly drifting across the tarmac.
The distances between settlements were growing, traffic was becoming scarce and the environment felt increasingly unforgiving.
A Ride to Nouadhibou. Sandstorms, Scams & Survival 🇲🇷
Crossing into Mauritania immediately changed the character of the journey. The familiar roads and infrastructure of Morocco were behind me, replaced by open desert, military checkpoints and long stretches where even a small problem could become serious.
My first major destination was Nouadhibou…
