Camping in One of the Most Epic Places on Earth | Mauretania 🇲🇷

Leaving the noise and congestion behind, I travelled deeper into Mauritania in search of something completely different: silence, isolation and a night surrounded by untouched desert. The road led away from the main towns and into a landscape that felt increasingly remote, with vast plains, rocky formations and almost no sign of modern life.

Reaching the camp felt like arriving in another world. There were no buildings, traffic or crowds—only open desert stretching toward the horizon. Surrounded by enormous rock formations and raw Saharan scenery, it was one of those rare places where the scale of the landscape made everything else feel insignificant. The setting was simple, but the location itself was extraordinary.

As the sun began to disappear, the colours of the desert changed completely. Harsh daylight gave way to softer tones, long shadows and a stillness that is almost impossible to experience in a city. Spending the night there was not about comfort or luxury. It was about being completely removed from normal life and appreciating how quiet the world can become when there is nothing around you.

Camping in the Mauritanian desert became one of the most memorable experiences of the journey. After long roads, difficult conditions and chaotic cities, this was a chance to stop moving and absorb the environment. It was wild, peaceful and genuinely spectacular—a reminder that some of the greatest moments of an expedition happen when the motorcycle is finally switched off.

I’ll be documenting this adventure along the way — the good, the bad, and everything in between. If you want to ride with me through Africa’s deserts, mountains, chaos, and calm, you can follow the journey on Instagram, and TikTok. I’ll be sharing stories from the road, raw moments, and the reality behind chasing freedom on two wheels.

So, come along for the ride — the long way through Africa.

Peace!
