Dakhla: Where Morocco Ends and the Journey Continues 🇪🇭 🇲🇦
After days of riding south through Western Sahara, I finally reached Dakhla—a remote city built on a narrow peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and a vast desert lagoon. Surrounded by water, sand and almost endless open space, it felt completely removed from the crowded cities and mountain roads of northern Morocco. Reaching it was an important milestone, but it also marked the end of the more familiar part of the journey.
Dakhla offered a chance to slow down, explore the coastline and prepare for what lay ahead. The landscape was stark but impressive, with desert plains meeting turquoise water and strong winds sweeping across the peninsula. After covering such long distances through Western Sahara, the city felt like a temporary refuge before the next—and considerably more demanding—stage of the ride.
From here, the road would continue toward Mauritania and deeper into West Africa. Morocco had already delivered mountains, chaotic cities, Atlantic coastlines and enormous desert landscapes, but Dakhla felt like the true threshold of the expedition. It was where one chapter ended and the uncertainty of the journey ahead became real.
I’ll be documenting this adventure along the way — the good, the bad, and everything in between. If you want to ride with me through Africa’s deserts, mountains, chaos, and calm, you can follow the journey on Instagram, and TikTok. I’ll be sharing stories from the road, raw moments, and the reality behind chasing freedom on two wheels.
So, come along for the ride — the long way through Africa.
Peace!
