I finally saw the Namibia I had dreamed about. After arriving in Walvis Bay, I spent time exploring this small coastal town and the incredible landscapes surrounding it — endless dunes, the Atlantic Ocean, pink salt lakes and thousands of flamingos gathered along the coast.
This was one of those places I had imagined long before ever reaching Namibia, and seeing it for myself was something completely different. There wasn’t any need for drama or difficult roads in this episode. Just Namibia doing what Namibia does best — enormous landscapes, beautiful wildlife and scenery that sometimes doesn’t even look real.
I explored Walvis Bay, headed out towards the dunes and coastline, rode alongside the salt lakes and stopped to watch the flamingos filling the water and sky. After travelling thousands of kilometres across Africa, moments like this are exactly why I started this journey in the first place.
And Namibia continues to be one of the biggest surprises of the entire adventure.
This journey may have started on a motorcycle, but this channel is about much more than riding. It’s about discovering places, people, cultures and experiences around the world — however the journey takes me there.
