Namibia 🇳🇦 Surprised Me — Exploring Its Beautiful Little Capital

Namibia Surprised Me — Exploring Its Beautiful Little Capital After leaving Otjiwarongo, I continued south toward Windhoek, the capital of Namibia — and once again, this country completely surprised me.

The ride into Windhoek was smooth and relaxed, surrounded by the wide-open landscapes that have already made Namibia one of my favourite countries on this journey. But this episode is mostly about the city itself.

Windhoek feels very different from many of the places I had travelled through earlier in Africa. It’s clean, modern, organised and surprisingly picturesque, with hills surrounding the city and a calm, almost European feel in certain areas. I spent some time walking around and exploring the centre, visiting the Namibia Craft Centre, where you can find locally made art, handmade products, clothing and plenty of interesting pieces from across the country.

I also stopped by some of Windhoek’s most recognisable landmarks, including the famous Christ Church and the statue of Namibia’s first president, Sam Nujoma, while learning a little more about the history and character of the city.

Windhoek may not be the biggest or busiest capital in Africa, but that is exactly what I liked about it. It feels relaxed, welcoming and easy to explore.

In this video I also talk about what comes next on the journey and why Namibia has already become such a memorable part of my solo trip across Africa.

The road south continues.

Thanks for watching and following the journey.

I’ll be documenting this adventure along the way — the good, the bad, and everything in between. If you want to ride with me through Africa’s deserts, mountains, chaos, and calm, you can follow the journey on Instagram, and TikTok. I’ll be sharing stories from the road, raw moments, and the reality behind chasing freedom on two wheels.

So, come along for the ride — the long way through Africa.

Peace!
