Surviving Marrakesh Traffic 🇲🇦. Monkeys, Snakes, and Zero Rules

The ride to Marrakesh was relatively calm, but that changed the moment I entered the Red City. Traffic here is not simply traffic—it is a full-blown survival test.

Scooters appeared from every direction, taxis forced their way through impossible gaps, horse-drawn carts moved slowly through the chaos, and pedestrians stepped into the road without warning. There seemed to be no lanes, no clear rules and very little concern for who actually had the right of way. Riding my Africa Twin through it all required complete concentration.

Eventually, I made my way towards the centre and the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, where the madness continued on foot. Sellers shouted from every corner, tourists filled the streets, monkeys screeched, snake charmers performed and the smell of food drifted through the crowded square.

Marrakesh is loud, exhausting, colourful and completely unapologetic. It can overwhelm you within minutes, but that raw energy is also what makes the city unforgettable. No lanes, no order and certainly no mercy—just pure Marrakesh.

I’ll be documenting this adventure along the way — the good, the bad, and everything in between. If you want to ride with me through Africa’s deserts, mountains, chaos, and calm, you can follow the journey on Instagram, and TikTok. I’ll be sharing stories from the road, raw moments, and the reality behind chasing freedom on two wheels.

So, come along for the ride — the long way through Africa.

Peace!
