Nigeria 🇳🇬 to Cameroon 🇨🇲 : Africa's Green Frontier

After travelling through the chaos and intensity of southern Nigeria, I continued further southeast toward one of the most important milestones of the journey: crossing into Cameroon.

The first stop was Calabar, a coastal city in southeastern Nigeria. This was not just a place to rest—it was a necessary stop to finalise the paperwork for the next stage of the expedition. I needed to get my Cameroon visa stamp, making sure everything was ready before attempting another international border crossing.

After spending the night in Calabar, I continued north toward Ikom, the Nigerian border town closest to Cameroon. The ride gradually moved away from the overwhelming urban areas of Nigeria and into greener landscapes, with smaller towns, villages and more rural surroundings replacing the dense traffic of cities like Lagos and Benin City.

From Ikom, I continued toward the border crossing at Ekok, entering Cameroon. Crossing another border after so many countries had become a familiar process, but every one still carried its own challenges—different procedures, different officials and the uncertainty of not knowing exactly how long it would take.

Once across into Cameroon, I reached Ekok, a small border settlement where I stopped for the night before continuing deeper into the country. It was another important transition point in the journey. Nigeria had been intense, crowded and overwhelming, while Cameroon promised a completely different experience with more remote roads, forests and landscapes ahead.

This stage was less about exploring major destinations and more about moving forward—organising the final details, crossing another border and continuing deeper into Central Africa. After months on the road, each new country brought a new challenge, and Cameroon was about to become one of the most demanding and memorable chapters of the entire journey.
