Angola 🇦🇴 Is Not What I Expected — Luanda, Coastlines & Wild Roads

Angola was nothing like I expected.

After the intensity of riding through the DRC, arriving in Luanda felt like entering a completely different world — modern highways, a huge skyline and a side of Africa I hadn’t seen for quite some time. But the real surprise came after leaving the capital. In this episode of my solo motorcycle journey across Africa, I ride south from Luanda toward Benguela, following Angola’s Atlantic coast through incredible scenery, wide open landscapes, river crossings and some of the most beautiful stretches of road I had experienced on the journey so far. The further I travelled, the more Angola continued to surprise me.

One moment I was surrounded by the modern development of Luanda, and the next I was riding through remote countryside, crossing rivers and looking out over dramatic coastal landscapes with almost nobody around.

After everything that came before it, this was one of those rides that reminded me exactly why I decided to cross Africa by motorcycle in the first place.

Welcome to the Angola.

I’ll be documenting this adventure along the way — the good, the bad, and everything in between. If you want to ride with me through Africa’s deserts, mountains, chaos, and calm, you can follow the journey on Instagram, and TikTok. I’ll be sharing stories from the road, raw moments, and the reality behind chasing freedom on two wheels.

So, come along for the ride — the long way through Africa.

Peace!
